I Turn Pages is built to give writers real visibility with readers who are actively looking for their next book. Here is how to make the most of what our reader social network offers.
Start With Your Profile
Before you promote anything, make sure your profile is complete. A full profile earns you points towards your author status level and gives readers a reason to follow you before your book even comes up.
- Add your bio, genres, and links
- Complete your profile fully for a one-off points bonus
- List your books so they are searchable across the platform
Important Note: You will not be showcased on our "Find Writers" hub until your profile is complete with an image or avatar. This is where readers can search for your genre and find YOU, follow you and see your books, posts, groups and your reader community that you build on I Turn Pages!
Build Visibility Through Community Activity
Everyday activities build your presence and your points at the same time.
- Take part in Ask the Community discussions in your genre
- Engage with readers on their reviews and posts
- Invite readers and fellow writers to join, which earns you points once they accept, and you get to spend your points online
Test-Drive Tuesday
Test-Drive Tuesday is built for unpublished writers who want real feedback and a ready-made readership before they ever query an agent or publisher.
- Submit The Hook, your first chapter of around 2,500 words
- Add an optional Book Bible, a punchy summary of characters and world rules
- Your entry goes live on Tuesday for readers to comment on pacing, direction, and voice
- Readers can follow you to beta-read your finished book, so by the time your manuscript is ready, you already have a genre-specific list of beta readers waiting
- Apply for a Test-Drive Tuesday - slots are limited so get yours now to avoid disappointment.
- See these test drives in action.
The Book Bible is an add-on available with Author Spotlight, Five-Page Friday and Test-Drive Tuesday. It gives readers the world rules, character traits and key lore behind your story, kept short and designed to tease rather than explain everything.
A Potential Launchpad to Publication
The entries that generate the strongest reader response based on their comments, follows, likes, and engagement will be pitched to our agent and publisher network as community-endorsed and reader-validated submissions ready for their consideration.
Genre Champions
These are recognition programmes for authors who are active and visible within their genre community on ITP.
- Genre Champions will work with our Genre Ambassador authors to build your genre with activities that appeal to your genre readers
- Apply to be a Genre Champion - slots are limited to one per genre so get your application in ASAP.
Author Events
Author book events give you a live or self-recorded format to talk directly to readers, often paired with a signed or digital copy giveaway to drive sign-ups. Events with higher membership tiers are given priority placement, so your event is easier for readers to find.

Track Your Status
Every rating, post, review, and profile action you take builds your engagement, which never resets, and your monthly author leaderboard points, which do.
As your engagement points grow, you move up through author status levels, giving you more visibility and standing within the community.
Getting Started
A Test-Drive Tuesday is worth using early if you are still unpublished and want feedback and a beta reader list before you query agents and publishers.
From there, our Book Events for writers are built to be 'automated book promotion' on steroids - you add the content, our community site does the rest of your long-term, continual book promotion.
