At the age when most sensible people are slowing down, I've decided to write and publish a novel.
Over the past year I've been working on The Long Grass, a crime thriller set in Far North Queensland in 1985. After countless cups of coffee, several rewrites and more than a few moments of wondering what I'd got myself into, the book is finally published.
I've invited you here because I'd love to share this journey with you. I'll post updates about the book, writing, publishing and occasionally the strange things that happen when a bloke decides to become a first-time author in his sixties.

Meggie, your prose and poetry is astounding. Lilting and sometimes laced with wild imagery, it carries one right along. I think that sometimes it could be slightly less explained allowing the reader to engage his/her imagination. Solid hook, great start. Your rock girl!
