If you're interested in applying to be a GENRE AMBASSADOR, please check these FAQs.
Q: What is a Genre Ambassador?
A: Genre Ambassadors are published authors who lead the community within their genre on I Turn Pages. There is one Ambassador per genre — it's a prestigious, visible role that connects authors directly with the readers who love their kind of books.
Q: What does a Genre Ambassador do?
A: Ambassadors post original content in their genre group at least once a week — things like reading discussions, recommendations, and events. They respond to reader questions, help suggest books for community spotlights, and lead or co-lead at least one Genre Week or Genre Month per year. The commitment is intentionally light — it should feel like an opportunity, not a chore.
Q: What do Genre Ambassadors get out of it?
A: Quite a lot, actually. Ambassadors are featured on our dedicated Genre Ambassadors page, visible to all readers, authors, and publishers on ITP. Their author profile is promoted across the platform and featured in our newsletter. They're recognised as a community leader in their genre, which builds credibility and brings them in front of new readers — readers who already love exactly what they write.
Q: How do I become a Genre Ambassador?
A: If you're a published author and passionate about your genre community, we'd love to hear from you. You can express interest via the Genre Ambassadors page on our menu. Paula reviews and approves all Ambassadors personally — there is one place per genre, so if your genre is already filled, we'll keep your details for when a vacancy arises.
Q: Can a reader nominate an author as a Genre Ambassador?
A: What a lovely thought — yes, absolutely. If you know an author who you think would be a brilliant community leader for their genre, let us know via the Contact page. Tell us who they are and why you think they'd be great. We love a warm introduction.
Q: I'm a reader. How do the Genre Ambassadors benefit me?
A: Ambassadors bring their genre to life on ITP. They spark discussions, surface great books, and create a genuine community around the genres you love. Think of them as your well-read, well-connected guide to everything happening in your corner of the book world.
Q: Where can I see who the current Genre Ambassadors are?
A: All active Ambassadors are listed on our Genre Ambassadors page — you'll find the link in the main menu. Each Ambassador has their own profile showing their books, their genre, and their activity on the platform.
Become A Genre Ambassador
In short: the role rewards authors who would do this kind of thing, anyway. If you love your genre and you love talking about books, we give you the platform, the visibility, and the readers to make it count.
