I'm looking for readers who love children's books and would like a reader copy with the first chapters of Bird of the Swamp.

I am looking for feedback about the pace (i.e. are there any areas where the plot has slowed too much?). Did the blurb entice you to read further, do you connect with the characters?

This is a graphic novel, and the first chapters set the scene.

A claw. A dodo. A story long overdue.

When Noor and Raj visit their family's home in Mauritius, they don't expect to meet a ghost, especially not that of a bird almost as tall as them. Rising from an ancient swamp is Dodo Raph and he has been waiting centuries to meet someone so that he can finally set his story right.

With the help of Neso and Psitta, two rare birds still fighting for survival on the island today, Raph takes the children back in time to a world before humans arrived: a time when the Dodo was fearless, curious, and completely at home.

Blending real science with storytelling, Bird of the Swamp uncovers how the Dodo really lived, why it disappeared forever, and what that word extinction truly means. This is a story about listening, remembering, and hope, as scientists work to bring the Dodo back.

I am definitely not the right type for giving critiques on children's picture books, so I won't. But the story does sound cool and interesting. So best of luck with an awesome story.

Thank you so much for your feedback Joel. As a person who feels you're not the right type for critiquing children's books, I believe you're perfect as you are looking at the story from a different perspective. That Bird of the Swamp has captured your interest, and you find it cool and interesting tells me I am definitely on the right track. With appreciation. Susea😀
