By Edward Halsey Foster (2000)
Poetry and Poetics in a New Millennium is an expanded edition of Postmodern Poetry, a book of interviews with major American experimental poets. All of the interviews from the original collection are reprinted together with six more to suggest the full range of the experimental tradition in American poetry now. The poets include William Bronk, Clark Coolidge, Theodore Enslin, Michael Heller, Anselm Hollo, Susan Howe, Nathaniel Mackey, Eileen Myles, Alice Notley, Maureen Owen, Ron Padgett, Gustaf Sobin, Anne Waldman, Rosmarie Waldrop, Lewis Warsh, and John Yau. A reviewer for the NAPRA Review concluded that the original edition had deepened my understanding and appreciation (of poetry) immeasurably. The new edition is essential reading for anyone interested in contemporary American poetry.
