By Ted Cullinan (2017)
Coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the practice, craft material detail commemorates the innovative architectural firm KnoxBhavan. Included within the publication is an overview of projects that highlight the practice's considered approach to form, sensitivity to the environment, construction expertise, innovative use of materials and high quality of detail and workmanship. Featured in the book are projects such as Hodges Place in Kent and Holly Barn in Norfolk, both of which are beautiful examples of the firm's commitment to a high level of craft and detail. These, amongst other projects by KnoxBhavan, are viewed in context, with the buildings examined within the surroundings in which they are situated. Also included is a selection of the furniture designs that the practice has undertaken throughout their history, coinciding with and complementing their architectural projects. The book also features a Foreword from architect Ted Cullinan, with whom the founders of KnoxBhavan worked closely with in their formative years. Also included is a considered and thoughtful introduction by RIBA Journal's Eleanor Young.
