A decision made before she was born has set the scope of Hannah’s life. She has lived quite happily as the daughter of a village Vicar, despite knowing that she is, by birthright, entitled to a far higher status. But when her stepfather dies, and a new Vicar is appointed to the living, she is left with others to support, and little recourse but to reach out to the relatives she has never known.
