thriller mysteries

It is Autumn 2020, and the nation is tentatively emerging from its first lockdown. Streets remain abnormally quiet even as businesses start to reopen. But anxiety still dominates this strange world and evil haunts the shadows. Desperately seeking two lost children, Greg is distracted by hare-coursers, vehicle thefts and a particularly reckless arsonist targeting farms. Then his investigation uncovers long buried crimes and he’s hit by a personal disaster that will call on all his resilience.

In the midst of a global pandemic, Greg Geldard grapples with the harsh reality that the streets may be quieter, but danger doesn’t vanish - it simply finds new hiding places. Homes that should be safe havens become traps and cherished plans are overturned by personal tragedies.

A mutilated body, a missing colleague, a bent copper and schoolchildren being groomed for organised crime. The common theme is revenge. Then as Greg moves fast to rescue a friend, his riverside home and everything he loves are also targeted.

Ritual burials are rare. Finding them - rarer still. When three turn up, Greg Geldard knows he has a problem. Can he find the killer’s latest victim before it’s too late?
