Unfortunately, these types of emails have become a common occurrence. I had one the other day from Maddie Caldwell, Executive Editor at Random House, Penguin Random House. Well, like Mr. Patterson, it wasn't her. The email, however, wasn't a generic Gmail like most; it was mcaldwell@penguinrandomshouse.com. On first glance, I thought, "Oh, okay." Then, looking at the email closely, I spotted that it read "randoms house" not "random house". Be careful, people!
