The writing is lovely, but the pacing is off a little, as others have said. The language seems a little self-obsessed, like someone trying a little to hard to be abstruse, when it is neither necessary nor desirable. After the opening, where the threads are either destiny or cloth, the language calms down very successfully, and the tension is introduced well. There are some very odd word choices, but not many. Canals can't slope, for example - they wouldn't work as canals if they did. A slivered door would be useless, whereas a 'shivered' door is much more sensible. And who is Misha? If Misha is also Mata, that needs to be introduced a bit more clearly.

All of that said, it is a very gentle, beautiful introduction to the world, and the world's features are bled into the story successfully. I would love to read more.😊
