Wow, Maggie, you have built such a colourful picture. What careful world-building! The looming weaving puns might be stronger if used sparingly. I would like to know more about the events as they unfold. The point of view is interesting, initially Ashara seems to be the observer, we see the world through her eyes, and then, as she lies weeping, her mother and grandmother take over. Does Ashara hear this conversation? Do you think, if you imagine your work as a weaving, perhaps now you the tailor might take over and shape the fabric into drama? Good luck with your warp and weft!
