Congratulations, the world is certainly strong enough, and interesting enough, to pull in readers. The dialogue is stern, the characters seem differentiated and the story moves smoothly. Love the ash hair! There is clarity when the descriptions are spare, but I did wonder who saw her scowl with disdain and who thought Sunming moved with calculated grace? I do hope the mother never gets to see her son's detached head!
